Job Summary:

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for shaping and implementing RotaChrom’ s product portfolio and directly involved at the front-end of our business by engaging potential market players in consultative dialogue, discerning their needs, and translating these into solutions which RotaChrom can deliver. Via engaged relationship with the target industries, the perfect candidate translates for the development and sales team the industry, regulatory requirements, furthermore channels into the organization the information of market and industry trends with special focus on Biotech, Life science and applications for purifying Specialty Chemicals (i.e. isomers, biocontrol). This position will develop relationships at all levels of pharma and biotech OEMs, CROs, and CDMOs. Additionally, the role will key on related laboratories at key universities and research institutes.

 

Job Duties:

  • Understand RotaChrom market and strategic goals and how RotaChrom’ s scalable green technology and value proposition can disrupt the current chromatography landscape.
  • Defining potential application fields for Rotachrom, exploring, and mapping out target fields within Biotech and Life Science industry.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of RotaChrom engineering capabilities, our design and development process, and the overall RotaChrom brand, effectively communicating this to potential customers and partners.
  • Proactive new business generation with a focus on pharmaceutical and biotech companies, as well as other key industry stakeholders, on a global scale
  • Compiling and assessing competitive landscape, including the definition of KPIs, industry pain points
  • Representing RotaChrom’ s vision and mission in front of potential targets
  • Maintaining a robust pipeline for future accounts generation by sourcing new prospects
  • Define revenue strategies based on leveraging the existing and new relationships with key decisionmakers and stakeholders within our target market segments.
  • Attending world-class conferences and events with the aim of developing new business and supporting existing clients
  • It is expected that this role is at least 80% customer/prospect facing

 

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering or Life Sciences. PhD is a plus
  • Comfortable with downstream purification techniques in laboratory and production scale application, with special focus to chromatography.
  • Engineering product development experience in BioTech and other relevant field is a plus
  • Experience in Continuous Chromatography/process scale column Chromatography is a plus
  • Strong English language skills,

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong industry knowledge across vertical and geographic markets, industry players, competing technology, and application in downstream purification areas with special focus on Capex related product sales.
  • This role would be perfect for a project manager or senior engineer, who has worked in a Life Sciences product design and development environment and is excited about the challenge of creating win-win scenarios and bringing new products to the market for our customers.
  • Able to facilitate communication between engineering and scientific customers.
  • Ability to access, negotiate, effectively solve problems, and removing objections. Contracting and negotiation skills
  • Computer skills that include CRM (HubSpot preferably), internet, and MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of their time
