The Department of History at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for an MA Coordinatorposition. The initial contract is for one year,with the possibility of renewal.


Duties and responsibilities:

The successful candidate's main responsibilitieswill include:

  • Administrative support to the international student and teacher body of the department,
  • Responsibilityfor academic tasks, schedules, course lists, arranging technical issues for classes,
  • Maintain the website and e-learning site of the department,
  • Overseeing course registrations, assisting students with the evaluation process,
  • Organizing public events (workshops, lectures, conferences),
  • Assistingwith   (visiting)   faculty-related   and   other   general   administrative   tasks,   booking accommodation, travel,
  • General administrative support to the Head of Department of History.

Further tasks maybe assigned by the Head of Department.


  • Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Experience  of  working  in  complex  organizations,  eginternational  NGOs,  or  higher  education institutions
  • Ability to work with bothstudents and faculty
  • A thorough knowledge of MS Office
  • Previous administrative experience -Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • A high level of confidentiality
  • Multicultural orientation and open-mindedness
  • Excellentorganizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure
