Duties and responsibilities:

• Design, administration, improvements, and troubleshooting: Veeam and spectrum protect.  
• Operational Tasks: Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup solutions.  
• Monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs and initiate corrective action.  
• Check daily Veeam and Spectrum protect Backup reports, troubleshoot failed backups.  
• Ensure no server is missed from backups by checking relevant tags assigned to the VMs (Virtual Machines).  
• Verify backup health and smooth recovery by performing recovery/failovers.  
• Monitor Veeam/Spectrum protect Console for any discrepancy in Backup jobs.  
• Look into Warning and Critical Backup alerts.  
• Check the license consumption and make sure the licenses are sufficient for backups to take place. If not, take necessary action before the expiration date  
• Verify target storage space and act when the space goes low.  
• Perform quarterly Backup audits and failover tests with the desired output  
• Plan-perform disaster recovery and update the DR runbooks for testing failover  
• Proactive measures to ensure adequate storage capacity is available else look for enhancements.  
• Streamline the backup reports (spectrum protect and Veeam) for using the inbuilt reporting feature/custom script  
• Maintain documentation for various backup tools and provide time to time training to the team members on backup and DR strategy  

Works experience and qualifications: 

• Minimum 5years of hands-on experience preferable with an ISP 
• Minimum 5-year experience in Backup configuration, installation, up-gradation, and troubleshooting  
• Certifications is a plus: Veeam, Spectrum protect  
• Expert knowledge of disaster recovery as a topic. Exposure to VEEAM as the backup tool is necessary  
• In-depth knowledge of Veeam Backup and its architecture including networking, proxies and backup-storage 
• Knowledge of BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) Improvements and assist in implementation and testing of DR solutions.
