Engineering Specialist Braking Software Controls

Tasks

  • Design and develop control systems for electronic braking and other electro-mechanical smart systems.
  • Write custom control logic and algorithms to optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in electronics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, and functional safety to define system behavior and requirements.
  • Use real-time simulation tools (MIL, SIL, HIL) to test and refine control strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with functional safety standards like ISO 26262.
  • Support risk assessment processes and develop safety protocols.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in electro-mechanical and electro-pneumatic systems.
  • Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including system schematics and user manuals.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in control system development for mechatronics, electro-pneumatic, or electrical systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in braking control software (ABS, EBS, ESC, BFD) for air brake or pneumatic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, including longitudinal, lateral, and yaw behavior.
  • Experience in developing vehicle state estimation algorithms (mass, road grade, etc.).
  • Proficiency with model-based development tools like MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow.
  • Coding skills in C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with simulation environments such as SimScape, TruckSim, or TruckMaker.
  • Practical background in ISO 26262-compliant safety-critical software development.
  • Familiarity with the AutoSAR platform and developing application-level software on it.
  • Solid understanding of product development and electro-pneumatic components.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
