Our partner in the aviation industry is looking for a Financial Reporting Supervisor, who will manage and oversee all aspects of general ledger and manage a sub-section of the RTR department.

Financial Reporting Supervisor

Tasks

  • Leads the month-end and year-end close processes, including reviewing and proposing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Reviews and analyzes the balance sheet and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
  • Conducts higher-level financial consolidation tasks and report on the quality of the closing process.
  • Gives advice to the stakeholders of the operational processes regarding aspects of the day-to-day operation and outcome of the quality assurance process.
  • Is a prime contact for internal and external auditors and monitors that the recommendations from audit reports are followed up timely.
  • Flags and reports on procedural discrepancies and initiates recovery actions if/when required.
  • Arranges and/or conducts training of end-users and train-the-trainer sessions on new and existing accounting processes.
  • Participates in initiating and writing of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
  • Evaluates the internal control framework of the BSC and comes forward with improvement proposals.
  • Steers a team of accounting staff in order to achieve set operational Targets, in concert with the Process Manager by coaching/motivating/communicating on day-to-day tasks
  • Proposes staff planning, participates in staff recruitment for the sub-section
  • Holds weekly one-to-one meetings with Process Leaders, periodic meetings with staff of the sub-section and one-to-one meetings bi-monthly with team members
  • Monitors staff production and productivity and quality of staff's action

Requirements

  • College degree in Finance/Accounting 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger management
  • Experience in leading a team 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and experience with financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g.: SAP, Oracle)
  • Excellent Hungarian and English both in writing and verbally
  • Chartered accountant certification is an advantage
