Your role as Multi-Site Finance Controller (Budapest-Hungary)

 

Morgan is seeking a Multi-Site Finance Controller to oversee financial operations across multiple sites, primarily based in Budapest, Hungary, with additional responsibilities for smaller sites in Germany and Poland. This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional with strong manufacturing experience, capable of both strategic oversight and hands-on operational tasks.

You will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager Operations in France and be responsible for driving financial performance, internal controls, and being a proactive business partner to the plant managers for the 3 sites. As a key member of the site’s management teams, this role will have broad interaction with a wide range of stakeholders both on-site as well as globally, and you will be managing your own team.

Key responsibilities include closing and financial reporting, leading the accounting teams at the sites including maintenance of an adequate internal control environment, system integration, ERP management, and change management.

We are looking for a hands-on manager who can be strategic but is not afraid to do operational work. Experience with (multi)-manufacturing site(s) is a must, as well as experience in team management and working in a global Matrix organization. Your team is around 5 people and occasional travel to the different sites is necessary.

What you will need to do

Financial Leadership & Reporting:

  • Ensure timely and accurate group IFRS financial reporting, meeting all group standards and deadlines;
  • Design and implement finance policies, programs, and systems to control all financial transactions and reporting;
  • Oversee robust internal controls, lead internal and external audits, and ensure full regulatory compliance;
  • Manage working capital, cash flow, and capital expenditure tracking for all sites.

 

Budgeting & Business Analysis:

  • Lead the annual budget process and monthly rolling forecasts in collaboration with site management;
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis to drive business performance and address variances;
  • Support long- and short-term business planning with actionable financial insights.

 

Business Partnering:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to department heads and plant managers, providing strategic financial guidance;
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to drive working capital excellence and continuous improvement;
  • Share and implement best practices across all sites for consistent, high-quality results.

 

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and ethical excellence;
  • Champion personal and team development, succession planning, and skills growth.

 

What You Need to Bring

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in accounting/finance, with leadership experience in a manufacturing plant or multi-site environment;
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required;
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or MBA preferred;
  • Management experience in leading a Finance function with 3-5 team members on a plant basis, with responsibility for the full Finance capabilities (e.g., accounting, cash, FP&A, capex management, tax);
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics and Excel.
