Main tasks

As a Network Architect:

• Design, planning, implementation, configuration, and operation of data center LAN networks
• Coordination of internal suppliers and external companies
• Planning and execution of upgrades and expansions in the data center LAN
• Analyzing requirements and developing solutions with customers and suppliers
• Creating technical concepts, documentation, and technical and functional specifications
• Operations and on-call duty

Background and required skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).  
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or network and security engineering role 
• Switching, preferably with Fortinet FortiSwitch or other LAN components from Cisco, Extreme Networks, etc.
• Ethernet, VLAN
• Redundancy mechanisms in LAN (Spanning Tree Protocol, Port Channeling, Link Aggregation, etc.)
• DWDM lines
• Experience in project management
• Accuracy and attention to detail when working in a structured and complex environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with clear and direct verbal and written communication
• Adaptability and willingness to take on evolving tasks and responsibilities
• Enthusiasm for teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
• Proactive approach with the ability to work independently
• Availability, dedication, and readiness for on-call duties, including occasional weekend and off-hours work

Advantage:

• Familiar with IPv4/IPv6/TCP/UDP, routing, NAT, IPSec, firewalling
• Familiar with Software-defined networking, automation (e.g., Ansible)
• Linux, virtualization
• German knowledge
