The Public Cloud Portfolio Unit operates on a national and international level, for medium-sized and large companies. We develop, market and operate agile, cloud-native, forward-looking products and services for the digital world. We see ourselves as innovation drivers and make our customers' business fit for the digital future. Our mission: Together with our customer, shaping the safest, easiest and most efficient transformation to a digitized and cloud-native future.

Your Department

We run Open Telekom Cloud! Open Telekom Cloud is a public cloud standard product based on open source community software and driven by principles of DevSecOps. Lean structures, agile methods, highly motivated teams and an extremely dynamic business environment determine our actions. With this customer-oriented and agile orientation, we are the anchor point for the Public Cloud business in Deutsche Telekom Group.

We are measured by delivering a secure, stable and innovative platform. We work jointly with our platform partner and other partners out of the OpenStack ecosystem to create a highly innovative public cloud product based on European security and data protection standards.

We are looking for people who are professionals and evangelists with a great deal of enthusiasm for cloud technology and who are up to the challenges created by the development and operation of a hyper-scale public cloud.

We offer a unique insight into how a large public cloud works under the hood, intercultural teamwork, flat hierarchies, and an independent working-style.

Your Tasks

As a Product Owner, you will actively participate in and drive the optimization of our monitoring platform’s alarming and event management processes. Rather than owning the tools directly, you will work alongside the team in defining and executing effective monitoring workflows while collaborating with other teams to remove dependencies and ensure seamless implementation.
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Refining and evaluating alarms: Leading the fine-tuning of existing alarms, creating evaluations for teams, establishing clear justifications for necessary adjustments, and being directly involved in testing and validation.
  • Developing proactive monitoring strategies: Actively shaping event-handling concepts, working hands-on with the team to design and refine processes for managing events effectively.
  • Enhancing automation: Supporting the team in implementing automation where needed, directly engaging in solution discovery, configuration, and troubleshooting, even if current in-house expertise is limited.
  • Central event management system: Overseeing event management processes, including hands-on involvement in integrating with Jira and ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Collaboration with Service Owning Product Teams: Working closely with service teams to continuously improve the monitoring system and facilitate cross-team implementation.

Do you like?

  • Maintain product backlogs and represent the customer view.
  • Prioritize in consultation with the Chief Product Owner to maximize customer value.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of agile processes.
  • Work in a team of specialists where everyone helps each other in an open and trusting manner

Skills:

  • Completed studies in a technical, engineering, or business field, or comparable professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of IT experience with a strong focus on modern cloud technologies.
  • Experience in designing and implementing monitoring/alarming systems and related processes.
  • High customer orientation with the ability to translate needs into actionable improvements.
  • Hands-on experience with agile methodologies and relevant software tools.
  • Agile Product Owner certification or equivalent long-term experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, proactive mindset, and a high sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to assess and facilitate technical solutions in collaboration with various teams.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Work eligibility within the European Union to meet security and data protection requirements.
