QA Engineer (REF4022J)

Department and Project

This position is within the Tolling Services team of Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Hungary. The team consists of IT professionals specializing in electronic road-charging solutions. Together with our partners, we develop and operate intelligent, kilometer-based tolling systems for international customers, covering the entire business process (vehicle registrations, country booking, providing On-Board Units, position data transmission, charge calculation, and fleet billing). Leveraging digital intelligence and advanced technology, our tolling solutions facilitate seamless mobility across Europe. The team aims to enhance existing services and expand into new domains. As part of an international team collaborating with T-Systems International, you will play a key role in supporting our customers with cutting-edge tolling solutions.

Main tasks

As a QA Engineer:

You ensure software quality within our agile Scrum teams in the Customer Backoffice domain. You collaborate closely with Product Owners and external supplier development teams to define and execute quality assurance strategies, embedding quality early in the development lifecycle.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining clear and effective acceptance criteria during User Story creation in collaboration with Product Owners and external suppliers.
  • Coordinating and managing testing strategies across multiple environments.
  • Executing and coordinating test activities, including exploratory and regression testing.
  • Collaborating closely with the Test Automation team to identify and prioritize automation needs.
  • Coaching and empowering development teams in agile testing practices.
  • Providing clear and timely reporting of quality and testing outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Actively contributing to test strategy refinement at both team and Tribe levels.

Background and required skills:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in the following areas: Computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, business or equivalent work experience in software quality assurance within agile development environments.
  • Proven experience as a Test Manager, QA Engineer, or in comparable roles. (3+ years of experience)
  • Solid expertise with agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and agile testing techniques.
  • Technical proficiency with APIs, backend systems, and databases.
  • Experience coordinating and collaborating effectively with external development teams.
  • Strong test management skills, including planning, coordination, risk analysis, and reporting.
  • Hands-on approach to testing, combined with strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Proactive, independent, and self-organized working style, closely aligned with Product Owners.
