Our stable and prestigious multinational partner, a global leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing a broad range of innovative products for the life science research and clinical diagnostic markets, is currently building up a new operation and looking for a Senior Cost Specialist to join their them for an exciting transition project in Budapest.

The costing specialist role is expected to support the finance teams with the technical steps in the processes of product costing, standard costing and manufacturing variances analysis for all EMEA entities. Also ensure the needed support for the local cost accounting teams in reporting and transactional matters – prepare reports, ensure the accuracy of the reported data.


  • Regular product costing activities for the entities in the responsibility and support to the local manufacturing finance teams
  • Month end activities: run technical steps in SAP (process order closing, ML steps) supports the closing activities for the sites, as needed
  • Performs LRD and EHQ costing – this could be extended to other entities as needed
  • Prepares regular reports standardized for all sites (e.g. cost center reporting, Actual vs. Plan analysis, headcount report, fixed assets overview, Flash report, other SAP and/or HFM/PBCS analysis, etc)
  • Maintains and monthly refreshes the Power BI reports needed for the regular sites reporting
  • Acts like the MDG EMEA and RTD data custodian
  • Ensure compliance with the SOX controls for the product costing area of the responsibility
  • Point of contact for SAP system updates and testing in the product costing area
  • Supports internal and external audit requests for the entities in her/his perimeter
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: actively liaise with the local GSC finance teams to support with the budgeting SAP standardized technical steps and comply with the budget guidelines. Uploads the final budget in PBCS and ensures the accuracy of the uploaded data in collaboration with the local finance teams. Prepares standardized or ad-hoc consolidated reports as needed in the budgeting process
  • Reporting activities: M reporting pack, Scorecard, QVR and other regular financial and management reporting for the entities in the perimeter of responsibility

Apply if you feel like you match the requirements below:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance, preferably in industrial controlling or management accounting
  • Financial education: bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Fluent English
  • SAP and Excel knowledge
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good communicator – ability to communicate with multiple local GSC finance teams in a matrix organization
  • Good understanding of financial processes and financial statements
