About the Project

Mobilithek (MDP) is Germany’s national access point for mobility data. It provides a central platform to share digital information between mobility providers, infrastructure operators, transport authorities, and information services. Examples include timetables, real-time traffic updates, and rental bike locations. Mobilithek helps shape transport policy, improves road safety, and supports innovation by offering open and secure data exchange.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java/Kotlin microservices running in the cloud.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Review code, test features, and fix issues.
• Keep technical documentation up to date.
• Work closely with colleagues in an international team.
• Support team members and share knowledge.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of IT experience, including Java, databases, and cloud services.
• At least 3 years of building complex software systems.
• Strong Java skills is a mandatory. Kotlin is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Cloud experience, ideally with Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of microservice architectures and Kubernetes (AKS, EKS).
• Experience with REST APIs and messaging tools (AMQP, Kafka).
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL/MSSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
• Comfortable with Linux basics (console, SSH).
• Understanding of security tools (VPN, PGP, OpenID Connect).
• Good English communication skills. German is a plus.
• Tools like Jira and Confluence are a benefit.

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of Python or another scripting language.
• Experience with Big Data tools (Hadoop, Cloudera, Azure Data Lakes).
