About the role

In the Drug Substance department, we are a team of 31 highly skilled and enthusiastic engineers, specialising in both upstream and downstream processes within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Our main responsibility is designing the essential equipment needed to produce specific products. The team is split between our headquarters in Virum, and our office in Kalundborg. While this position focuses on the office in Virum or Kalundborg, frequent visits to Kalundborg are expected, as we need talent in both locations.

How you might spend your days

You will typically work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to various project phases—from Conceptual Design to Construction and Validation. Your specific tasks may include:

  • Calculating the production capacity of a facility
  • Creating and updating of P&ID’s as part of the process design
  • Specifying, selecting, and procuring process equipment
  • Working with automation teams for designing the control strategy for the process equipment
  • Supervising the manufacturing and installation of equipment
  • Participating in the equipment commissioning, qualification & validation
  • Facilitating the design decision workshops and Design Engineering Reviews

The miles you’ve walked

In all positions, there are some things that are preferred, and others, a bonus. If you do not meet all the qualifications listed below, you are welcome to offer alternative experience that you think would be valuable in this role. 

  • You have a degree in engineering within chemistry, biotechnology or pharmaceutical production
  • You have over 10 years of experience as a process Engineer, preferably in the life science or biotech industry
  • You are fluent in both spoken and written English
  • We welcome diverse skill sets, but experience with freeze Drying technology is highly valued
