Transition Manager (REF4673G)
Position Summary
At GSUS, we are shaping the future of real estate management within Deutsche Telekom. GSUS is a corporate real estate management and procurement unit within Deutsche Telekom, not a standalone property developer. Its mission combines asset optimization, cost efficiency, and digital sustainability solutions in service of the company’s overall operations.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Transition Manager to oversee the successful transition of services, projects, and processes into steady-state operations. The Transition Manager will be responsible for ensuring that new or changed services are delivered effectively, risks are minimized, and service quality is maintained throughout the transition lifecycle. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage complex programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute service transition activities for new or modified services, projects, and programs.
- Develop and maintain transition plans, schedules, and risk assessments, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals.
- Ensure all required documentation, knowledge transfer, and training activities are completed before go-live.
- Manage stakeholders across business, IT, vendors, and operations to secure alignment and buy-in.
- Monitor progress, report on key metrics, and resolve issues to ensure smooth service handover.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL and organizational standards throughout the transition process.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in transition management and implement best practices.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all transition-related activities and communications.
- Conduct post-transition reviews and ensure lessons learned are captured and embedded into future projects.
Requirements
- Strong German & English language knowledge (at least B2) is a must
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in service transition, project/program management, or IT service management.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework, particularly the Service Transition and Service Operation phases.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale transitions, migrations, or service introductions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow, or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL v4 Foundation or higher certification.
- Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum).
- Experience working in a multinational or complex matrix organization.
- Knowledge of outsourcing, vendor management, and service delivery models.
