Application Manager / Operations Manager- GSUS (REF4446W)

Tasks

Application Operations & Lifecycle Management

  • Manage and oversee the operation and lifecycle of internal business applications
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of business-critical systems.
  • Coordinate patching and update processes with relevant stakeholders (business, infrastructure, database teams, and external vendors).

Monitoring, Reporting & Performance Management

  • Track and report on application-related KPIs and SLAs.
  • Identify and address performance issues proactively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency.

Documentation & Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain up-to-date technical and operational documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and third-party providers.
  • Ensure transparency and knowledge sharing across teams.

Change & Release Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate application changes and release deployments.
  • Assess the impact and necessity of changes, support testing efforts, and oversee go-live activities.
  • Collect input from cross-functional teams and ensure documentation reflects current configurations.

ITIL-Based Service Management

  • Apply ITIL best practices in incident, change, and problem management.
  • Drive service quality and operational excellence through structured processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in application management or a closely related IT role.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL-based service processes (certification is a plus).
  • Demonstrated experience with managing SLAs, KPIs, and application performance reporting.
  • Proficiency in maintaining documentation and coordinating with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • English mandatory, German nice to have

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with cloud-hosted applications or cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, SAP Cloud).
  • Familiarity with ERP or SAP systems (e.g., ChaRM, NOR/IRON, SDSK, release management) is a strong plus.
  • Background in working with cross-functional and global teams.
  • Proactive mindset with a commitment to service improvement and operational excellence.
  • Experience in vendor coordination and stakeholder communication.
