Ready to revolutionize our production processes for industrial vacuum cleaners and high-pressure washers? We're seeking a LEAN Engineer to spearhead our continuous improvement initiatives and spearhead the charge in optimizing our operations. Your expertise will be pivotal in reducing waste and elevating our performance across the board.

Your Impact:

As our LEAN Engineer, you'll be instrumental in streamlining our manufacturing processes and enhancing our operational efficiency. You'll tackle a variety of areas, from transportation to inventory management, Motion, Waiting, Over-Processing, Overproduction, Defects using LEAN principles to drive tangible results and improve our key performance indicators.

Your Team:

You will be part of our Manufacturing Engineering Team of 12 skilled and highly motivated colleagues and report to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor.

LEAN Engineer

Your main tasks will be:

  • Planning and execution of continuous improvement projects, guiding multifunctional teams towards implementation success.
  • Facilitate workshops and kaizen events to identify opportunities and drive change within our production sites.
  • Identifying best practices and innovation in other Nilfisk sites and within the manufacturing industry incorporating them into our manufacturing processes..
  • Deploy our continuous improvement strategy and the Nilfisk production system framework, ensuring alignment with our KPIs. Provide feedback to the site leader with weekly and/or monthly reports on the progress of the continuous improvement program and the performance of the operational KPI´s.
  • Provide regular progress reports to site leadership, offering insights and recommendations for further improvement.
  • Conduct analysis using tools like Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Pareto evaluation to identify areas for optimization.
  • Oversee audit programs to evaluate progress and address any gaps in our continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain the integrity and standardization of our KPI framework, ensuring accurate measurement of performance.
  • Provide coaching and training to local teams on LEAN principles and continuous improvement techniques.

Improvement Projects related, but not limited to:

  • Implementing one-piece flow systems
  • Optimizing material flow and presentation
  • Implementing SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) techniques
  • Establishing Kanban systems for inventory management
  • Optimizing layout designs for efficiency
  • Implementing CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) processes
  • Introducing Pull systems for production control
  • Implementing 5S programs for workplace organization
  • Establishing visual factory practices
  • Developing data capture systems for performance monitoring
  • Exploring opportunities for automation

The ideal candidate contributes to:

  • 5+ years of experience on continuous improvement programs and leading kaizen events.
  • Proficiency in LEAN manufacturing tools such as VSM, Kanban, and One Piece Flow Strong ability to influence others to implement improvements.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken
  • Fluent in Hungarian
  • Desirable: Automation and process digitalization skills
  • Desirable: Black Belt certification
  • Basic financial knowledge.
