ExxonMobil has Marine Claims organization based out of Budapest and integrated into the businesses. Organization manages ~20k/year marine demurrage and oil loss claims associated with ExxonMobil’s global marine transportation activities adding upto significantly high amounts. Given potential cost reduction opportunities that they provide, demurrage and oil loss claims remain to be a strong focus area for ExxonMobil management
Marine Claims Analyst play crucial role in ensuring claims are reviewed, calculated, filed, negotiated and settled in line with terms and conditions in a timely manner. They are responsible for all aspects of demurrage, oil loss including the use of ExxonMobil claims system (VIP/Vesson) and other operating systems.
The role provides extensive opportunities to learn both ExxonMobil organization and also the Marine Industry. Marine Claims Analyst work closely with Charterers, Freight Operations, Commercial Supply & Trading, Sales, Refineries, Trading, Hydrocarbon Measurement, Product Quality and Accounting within the Company. Their external contacts include vessel Owners, Charterers, Cargo buyer/Seller, Brokers, Agents, Ship Captain, Inspectors and Agents.
