We are currently looking for a

REGIONAL HEAD OF ACCOUNTING

based in our European Operations Centre in Budapest

DAILY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the full bookkeeping of the branches/legal entities in the regions supported
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closing, ensuring books are closed in good quality and meeting deadlines
  • Manage ongoing reconciliations of all Balance Sheet Accounts (Intercompany, subledgers, banks, accruals, prepayments, etc.)
  • Responsible for finance and accounting operations and perform complex accounting
  • Responsible for preparation of statutory annual financial statements
  • Work with internal and external auditors
  • Develop and maintain internal controls; promote accounting excellence, create and maintain local policies
  • Supervise and manage the accounting team members
  • Engage in collaboration with the business and stakeholders to develop a professional relationship
  • Identify, evaluate and bring financial process improvement and process automation
  • Drive consistency across the different accounting country teams

REQUIREMENTS: 

General requirements

  • At least 10 years senior accounting experience
  • University/College degree in finance
  • People management experience
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • US GAAP experience
  • Statutory experience
  • Audit firm experience or regional/corporate experience (multicountry)
  • Excellent written and verbal English (Hungarian is not a requirement, but a definite plus)
  • Analytical skills and a proactive personality
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn
  • ACCA, CIMA qualification and UK GAAP and/or IFRS certification can be an advantage
