Sustaining engineer
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Sustaining engineering focuses on maintaining and supporting existing products or systems throughout their lifecycle. This discipline involves a dedicated effort to ensure the longevity, reliability, and efficiency of products after their initial development. Sustaining engineering activities encompass a range of tasks including BOM (Bill Of Material) management, identifying and resolving issues or defects, implementing product enhancements or modifications based on customer feedback or changing requirements, and managing obsolescence by finding alternative solutions for outdated components or technologies. The primary goal of sustaining engineering is to maximize the value and performance of existing products while minimizing risks and disruptions, ultimately contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the organisation. The Sustaining Engineer will be the connection between the company’s engineering staff and the site, to become the technical guidance to other employees in activities where the design of the product is involved and/or technical expertise is needed.
