Recruitment as a UNHCR staff member and engagement under a UNHCR affiliate scheme or as an intern is subject to proof of vaccination against Covid-19.

Senior Human Resources Assistant - MIP

Organizational Setting and Work Relationships

The Senior Human Recourses Assistant - MIP will function under the direct supervision of the Human Recourses Associate - MIP, primarily responsible for assisting him/her in initiating collection of contributions of After-Service Health Insurance (ASHI) participants by the UNJSPF. This will require to coordinate with local offices worldwide, in order to send and collect authorization forms from each participant and log them on into a dedicated Pension Fund system through an Employer Self Service portal. The incumbent will also assist the MIP Associate with the processing of Medical Insurance Plan (MIP) claims in respect of MIP participants at the Global Service Centre. S/he will also be responsible for providing and maintaining a consistent approach in helping staff members and insured family members in understanding plan¿s benefits. S/he will be working in a discreet working environment in which various personnel and sensitive issues will be discussed, commitments made and actions initiated. The confidentiality of all personnel matters and the need to deal with clients and third parties such as medical providers in a courteous and efficient manner are the salient features of this position.

All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. They do so within their delegated authorities, in line with the regulatory framework of UNHCR which includes the UN Charter, UN Staff Regulations and Rules, UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions as well as relevant accountability frameworks. Duties

  • Prompt, effective and equitable services with utmost confidentiality are provided in the management of the MIP.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the MIP at the Budapest Global Service Centre.
  • Co-ordinate and follow-up with collection of authorization forms from after service health insurance participants and upload them into a dedicated system.
  • Undertake reconciliation of contribution payments with the UNJSPF on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a regular reporting line with the Senior Human Resources Associate at Geneva HQs Liaison & Compensation Unit, HRSS and consult him/her on all above activities.
  • Co-ordinate and follow-up with collection of authorization forms from ASHI participants and upload them into a dedicated system.
  • Assist with processing of MIP claims at the Budapest Global Service Centre.
  • Access the relevant information and records of individual staff members.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Years of Experience / Degree Level
For G5 - 2 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 1 year relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher
NOTE: A completed and relevant minimum first level university degree (equivalent to BA or higher) shall count in full (100%) towards the required years of work experience. Priority will be given to eligible applicants meeting the full requirements.
Salary range: NET 431,375 HUF- NET 505,304 HUF

Relevant Job Experience

Essential

Completion of secondary education with certificate/training in Secretarial, Administrative or other related fields. Proven ability to deal with multiple tasks in a courteous and service-oriented manner. Experience in provision of support services with individual client work and conflict resolution a real advantage. Proven ability to work independently and with utmost discretion, considering the confidential nature of the work. Good knowledge of UNHCR administrative procedures and processes and exposure to provision of support services in an international organization.

Desirable

Working knowledge of another UN language, preferably French. Experience in working with invoices and data registration. Experience in client service or similar field. High level preciseness. Ability to handle monotone tasks.

Pension system: Staff members holding granted a minimum of 6 months fixed-term/temporary appointment will become participants in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF).
