Tasks

As a Senior Procurement Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various tasks related to governance, compliance, and risk management within the procurement organization. Your role will encompass the following detailed responsibilities:

Governance and Compliance:

  • Define the strategy and key elements of effective risk management and governance programs for both internal and external compliance.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement procurement governance processes and policies to ensure internal compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Establish key controls for identified policies and monitor procurement compliance to mitigate potential risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement of procurement governance policies based on emerging internal and external needs.
  • Promote and support a culture of compliance, risk mitigation, and corporate accountability throughout the organization.
  • Utilize data to assess potential mitigations through scenario planning, identify trends, risks, and necessary controls to ensure compliance.
  • Recommend and implement realistic changes to reduce or eliminate compliance risks.

Risk Management:

  • Assess the urgency and importance of risks identified within a global network of divisions, groups, functions, and categories.
  • Lead risk mitigation initiatives with minimal supervision, ensuring on-time, quality delivery of work products.
  • Identify loopholes in existing processes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost-saving strategies.
  • Define and implement measures to address risks, drive agreement on proposed solutions, and monitor intended outcomes.
  • Collaborate with procurement team members and compliance subject matter experts to track and implement compliance measures aimed at mitigating supply chain risks.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in procurement processes to drive internal compliance and coordinate efforts to continually improve those processes.
  • Monitor regulatory, legislative, and industry-specific compliance requirements that may impact the supply base.
  • Conduct high-quality analysis of processes and systems using analytical and quantitative methods to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Define programs and projects to meet internal and external compliance requirements and manage associated change across the procurement function and wider business.
  • Apply consistent project management approaches, identify and report roadblocks, and ensure projects achieve stated objectives.
  • Coordinate governance activities, including scheduling, preparation, facilitation, and follow-up for key meetings.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead global, geographically distributed teams to achieve desired outcomes related to governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Collaborate across procurement and other functions to co-create and deliver solutions to compliance and risk-related issues.
  • Lead change management activities and project implementation to ensure successful delivery of continuous improvement strategies.
  • Interface, influence, and align with relevant personnel across various functions to achieve key targets and develop relationships within the organization.
  • Facilitate breakthrough thinking by integrating diverse views and participating in problem-solving sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or Science. MBA desirable
  • Certification in Project Management is desirable
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement governance, risk management, and compliance activities, preferably within the Life Sciences, BioTech, or Pharma industry.
  • Experience in leading complex, global programs and project initiatives.
  • Strong background in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, or category management.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as PPI, Lean, or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supplier lifecycle processes and risk assessment.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to organize and execute complex projects.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to influence and manage change, challenge current practices, and drive innovation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in Project Management tools, MS-Office suite, and data analysis.
